My Cousin Jerry

World, meet my cousin Jerry. My beloved Uncle D adopted him a month ago. I will say this, Jerry is one LUCKY guy! My Uncle D will undeniably be an amazing father to him. I am sure he is already being spoiled. I am going to love having another cousin to the mix. I myself have been pestering my Mom for a sibling these last few months but all I get is the “I don’t think so Bella. In a few years, your brother will go off to college and I will be what is referred to as an “empty-nester”.” Now, don’t get my Mom wrong she has been a great Mom to me and my siblings and she has also put her life aside to dedicate herself as mom. So, it is only natural that she is looking forward to being an empty-nester because then she can start living her life for herself. But…she will always be there for her kids, I included.

Back to my cousin Jerry, I think he is going to be an awesome addition to the family. Plus, he will break up the numbers. See, my grandparents only have two grandpups so Jerry coming in to the family now offsets it; so Fiona and I won’t wonder who the favorite is. Now, we will know. 🙂 and I am totally COOL with it.

The only downside is that my cousin Jerry lives about 5 hours away so I may not always be able to hang out with him but I know my Mom spoke with my Uncle and asked him to throw a picture our way every once in a while so we can see how he is growing up. Here is to the next generation.

Hide and Seek

fullsizerenderMrs. Z called yesterday aftenoon to see if I could go over and hang out and watch movies with the girls. My mom gave me permission with the understanding I put my toys away before she dropped me off. I think that was the fastest I have ever picked up after myself. Along the way, we stopped at the Walgreens so I could pick up a bag of Skinny Pop popcorn. After all, we are all watching our figures. Thirty minutes later we arrived at Mrs. Z’s place and mom kissed me goodbye. Mrs. Z put in Ice Age 2 for us and told us she would be back in an hour or so while she went out to run a few last minute errands before Christmas. The door closed and Daisy ejected Ice Age 2 and popped in Love Story. We are three single girls and what sort of movies do single girls love to watch during the holidays…dramatic romance movies. Love Story is one of my favorite all time movies, I even have the book. About an hour into the movie we heard keys jingling in at the door and we had to quickly switch out the movies and pretend we were “preteens” again. Mrs. Z walked in with bags in hand and Ice Age was on the television screen. Except, Dahlia did not get the memo that we were to sit on the sofa and pretend as if we had been watching the movie the whole time. She went and hid under the bed and as you can see from the picture not very good at it. Mrs. Z became suspicious as any Mom would and next thing you know we were being questioned. Daisy and myself played it pretty cool as we were the oldest and more experienced. Mrs. Z was buying it too until Dahlia came out from under the bed yelling “Bozo, Bozo.” She came to a screeching halt when she slid right into Mrs. Z. When Mrs. Z asked her who Bozo was Dahlia blurted out that was the name Jenny told Oliver she wanted to name her son. The confused look on Mrs. Z’s face was enough for me to do the right thing so I came out and told her we had switched the movie. She thanked me for being honest and surprised us by popping in Love Story again and sitting down and watching it with us. It turned out to be a great night especially since Mrs. Z didn’t even tell my mom of the night’s shenanigans.

My pal Dahlia

Yup, this is my good Ol’ pal Dahlia. I told you all she was a big goof-ball! Daisy her sister had a date tonight with some Schnauzer named Rainer and she absolutely did not want to spend a Saturday night with the “Rents” so I told her to come on over. My mom loves to spoil me and my friends so she made us a grain free all organic squash pie. It was incredibly delicious. We took turns on pieces so we could make sure we each had an even amount. My mom also has raised me to have manners. 🙂

For the most part, we have been binge watching CSI: NEW YORK on Netflix. My mom asked us if we wanted to watch something else like maybe Finding Nemo, Cars, or some other animated movie but we made it known that we are not kids anymore. I won’t lie but maybe we should have stuck to something animated, there have been a few episodes where we had to dig our heads into a pillow or something. This has been a very graphic show. Luckily for us, my brother is always a few paw steps away for big brother support.

Dahlia confided to me a earlier in the evening that she is in love. I told her to be careful because puppy love never lasts. I speak from experience. My relationship with Krueger was very short-lived. Don’t worry folks, I am way over that. I know now that it did not work out with Krueger because my real Doggy Soul Mate is still out there. Back to Dahlia, so it seems her parents do not allow her to talk on the phone due to her being young still so I did something rebel like…I loaned her my cell! I sort of gave her a piece of paper of what to say and sent her to my room so she could call her crush, Carmine. A few minutes later, she came out and said they were going to try to and make it to where they “coincidentally” are at Petsmart at the same time.

Dahlia’s parents will be here in about an hour or so so I am going to sign out for now so I may enjoy this goof-ball for a little longer.

Lunch Date gone bad

My first lunch date behind mom’s back and it went from good to bad in less than 20 seconds. I decided to invite my good friends Dahlia and Daisy over for some scrumptious Turkey and Vegetables that my mom made the night before. All was going well…until Dahlia decided she wanted to sit on my side of the sofa. I take full responsibility because although Daisy has been over a few times, Dahlia had never been. I should have given her the house rules up front.

See, let me make it clear…the IKEA Sofa is MY sofa. This is just common knowledge at home already. I mean, even my brother knows that every inch of that sofa is my personal property. I won’t lie though, he will try his best to control it but in the end, I win and he retreats to his room.

After we finished lunch we thought it would be a great idea to retreat back to the living room and watch a movie. My mom had earned a free Vudu Movie code and she had used it to purchase Neighbors 2. I remember hearing her tell my brother that she had until the next day available to watch, in case he wanted to see it as well. So as I gracefully trekked from the dining room to the living room to make my presence known on my comfy sofa, when low and behold Dahlia carelessly ran past me and knocked me down. She sprinted right up onto the sofa and took residence in my corner.

After all the jabs, pushes, and shoving we decided to compose ourselves back to a very lady-like demeanor.

In the end, my mom came home early and was not a happy camper with how the sofa was left. As you can see it, it was not looking very pretty.

Punishment phase began about 2 minutes later and now I am grounded until tomorrow.

(Thanks Dahlia)

Gizmo equals California Sunshine

I received a text the other day from my cousin, Gizmo in California to see how the family has been. I gave him the regular low down on everyone, my brother has become a jock, my sister has not changed any, and I still love my naps.He said next time my family went to Cali to sneak into the luggage and go for a visit.

Do any of you all at times find it hard to muster the courage of asking your parents about something you especially want?

I would love to go visit my cousin in San Diego during Christmas break but I am so afraid my mom will say no. After all, I would be traveling alone either by air or by ground. Plus, honestly, I don’t think I myself have the courage to go alone. You hear so many bad and horrible things on the news now a days and that makes me so fearful.

Gizmo said he would ask his mom if they could meet me halfway…maybe pick me up in Arizona.

I can just see me now…walking down Santa Monica Pier or even shopping in San Diego.

Any advice on how to ask my mom???

Is Modeling in my Future??

Backdrop: My cell phone vibrates off the ottoman signaling a call being received

Me:  Hola

(my cousin) Brownie: Hey Bells, guess what!

Me: What? You won the Lotto?

Brownie: Ha! No, I wish. This past weekend my folks and the siblings went to get some dinner. There was a family out in the courtyard taking what looked like family pictures and as I walked by the photographer lady smiled at me.

Me: Cool, where did ya’ll go eat? My mom treated to me to a philly cheesesteak sandwich this weekend. It was so good. She also surprised me with carrot cupcakes.

Brownie: Bells, stay focused here. It is not about where we went to dinner but what happened during dinner. The lady photographer approached my parents about me being in a photo shoot. She said I had nice coloring and a spunky personality. I spent the entire drive home finding ways to convince them.

Me: Well, did you? Are they going to allow you?

Brownie: Yes, Bells!! They did. I had the photo shoot yesterday and it was so much fun. I even got to wear different outfits but they looked funny so I opted out of the rest.

Me: Really? What sort of funny outfits? Funny as in the yellow submarine costume my mom made me wear one year?

Brownie: Not quite that funny but close enough. My mom really had fun. My dad just laughed the entire time, you know him.

Me: So, are you going to be in magazines or what? I think I would make a good model, what do you think? I mean, everyone states I am photogenic.

Brownie: Hey Bells, my mom is calling me to pick up my toys. I will call you later. I will text you one of the pictures so you can use it as my contact pic.

Me: Cool! See you later.

thinking to myself…could I be a model?

Back to school equals Naps, Naps, and Naps

Today was day two of my brother returning to school. It was great having him for the summer. We spent countless days hanging out. He even attempted to teach me a new trick or two. Of course, I mastered the new tricks for a few weeks and then I lost interest. For the most part, I spent my days watching him from the comforts of his bed. I enjoyed watching him bounce back and forth on this funny chair which I heard him refer to as a computer chair from time to time. He played computer games and Xbox games with friends near and far. He seems to be a professional with this game. I think it is called CSstop or was it GOC3, I can’t remember. I just know he is really good. He seems to be very passionate about it because there were some days I heard him yelling into his microphone. Sometimes, I have heard that people will raise their voice a bit more than normal when they are passionate about something.

Since he has returned back to school all I can find time to do is NAP. Like seriously, I should be awarded a gold medal for Napping Champion. I think I easily slept almost 22 hours and 20 minutes today. I am already looking forward to my naps tomorrow. #napgoals

On our walk today we stopped to check the mail and when we got back home my name was said during Mail Call. YAY!! I love receiving surprises. It was a package from my favorite people, Canidae Dog Food. They sent me a bag of chewy treats. These treats are amazing! All the flavors they have sent me have all been the best. My favorite thus far is this one. It had cherries in it. This was my first time every trying cherries. It was a weird taste at first but, I fell in love. I asked my mom if she could buy me some this weekend. She told me she would and would even make my favorite homemade meal this weekend. In case, I have never told you all my favorite homemade meal is ground turkey, squash, zucchini, and carrots all mixed together and baked in individual servings of a muffin pan. This time though I asked my mom to add cherries to the mix. Yum! I can’t wait to try it out.

All I got were pictures…oh and a magnet

My siblings and Mom went on holiday last month. They took a drive to California to visit San Francisco. Along the way they made a short few hours detour to see “The City of Angels.”

As with any holiday they take, I am not able to come along. Luckily, for me one of my mom’s co-workers came to check on me daily. She was really nice. She gave me all the belly rubs I wanted. She also knew how much my mom missed me and worried about me that she took several pictures of me and sent them to her to help ease her mind. I just want to make it known that if my mom and siblings take anymore trips on which I can’t come along, I definitely want Mrs. Z to come to my rescue.

Although, I was a bit sad that they left me behind I had a grand time with my old pal, Romeo. We watched Netflix every night. I would sneak him in after Mrs. Z would leave for the night. I know, I know, I should not have disobeyed the house rules. I just couldn’t help myself. My pal Romeo has been an amazing friend my entire life. For the most part, we watched a lot of HGTV shows which are on Netflix. We did slightly expand our viewing to a few cooking shows as well. You can say I did learn my lesson from last summer when I sort of hosted the party which got of hand. So this time around there were zero parties on my end even if Romeo did his best to convince me. I. stood. my. ground. My biggest dream is to learn how to cook but for now, I will just enjoy my mom doing it for me. Yes, go ahead and call me SPOILED because I am.

Here is the collection of pictures I received from my siblings while they were on the trip.

And of course, my pal Romeo. He can be a Diva. 🙂

A Lover’s Triangle

What a Rascal!!!!

I came home yesterday from visiting my Tia in the hospital. She was admitted due to some complications with her pregnancy. Yea folks, she is having another child. I love my cousin “Baconator” but I am not sure if I will be able to handle two of “them.” I guess only time will tell.

Anyhoo, I had forgotten my cell phone at home since it was a quick out the door type of thing. Well, low and behold I came home and found this picture on my Pawbook timeline. It seems that this hussy has been spending time with MY Simon! Yikes hold up, let me do a rewind. Okay, Simon’s Mom was transferred here to this wonderful (not) city of mine for her job. They have been living here in town since the middle of October. I thought we were dating. We go out often to the movies or dinner and there have been numerous times he just comes over and watches Netflix with the family. I mean geez, we even muzzled bump.

My good friend Emma was the one who text me to give the news about this Dog posting the picture. Word to the wise, when your mom or parents tell you to keep ALL social media private it would be best to adhere to their guidelines. Should I have done that, this would not have been put out there for the world to see.

  1. She should have had the decency to not mess with someone else’s pup.
  2. I have now realized he is just as GUILTY!!!!
  3. What am I saying, there is NO 3. These two deserve each other!

Good Riddance!!

A night out with the Cousins

A few nights ago I was invited out to enjoy a night with my cousins. We weren’t sure where to spend our allowance until my cousin Brownie gave me a brilliant idea…Incredible Pizza. Where else could we play some arcade games and get a bite to eat all at the same time?? The pizza however, was not that great! Eli said that DiGiorno’s frozen pizza is much way yummier. We played some skee-ball where I might add I won almost 1000 tickets!!  I am so going to get myself that mini drum set, but I only need 9000 and something more in tickets. <insert SAD face> Of course, Brownie had to come and gloat on how he scored 20,000 tickets on the stop the light game. His niceness shined when he saw how sad I was with my low number of tickets and he gave me some of his. The icing on the top layer of the cake was when Brownie won me one of these rainbow babies. I have the best cousins ever!!

I love spending time with them. I believe family should always spend time with each other.

Now for some sad news, my friend Moses will be moving away. His dad got a new job in Dallas and they will moving in the next few weeks. Luckily, since his dad and my mom are good friends we will still be in each other’s lives. I received the bad news after I got home from our cousin’s night out. He left me a very sad voicemail but since it was really late I did not respond until the next day. We spoke for the better part of an hour and I think there is more he wants to divulge on but I was afraid to continue the conversation for fear he got a bit deep. Moses is a deep thinker…if you know what I mean. On the positive at least Dallas is only five hours away so I am sure my mom and I will be doing a few road trips.

PS…I think Brownie deserves a big, big balloon bouquet so I left my mom a little message last night.

“Mom, can I have an extra $40 added to my allowance this month?” sadly no response yet. <insert DOUBLE SAD face>
